We've just set a new corp record today - 41 contracts completed in the last 24 hour period.
So keep the contracts coming... we're more than up to the task! |

Quick update: we're very busy post-expansion (60 contracts placed in the last 24 hours).
To minimise the likelihood that your contract expires before having been accepted, we suggest you make sure you follow the trip calculator guide for setting times to accept (7 days for all contracts). Otherwise if you set you contract for 3 days, there is a possibility it will just drop off the queue if not able to be accepted while we process the post-expansion rush. |

The Black Team have just completed 50+ contracts in the past 24 hours, bringing the post-expansion queue pretty much under control. We still do recommend 7 days for acceptance of all contracts, however, to allow for periods where few pilots are available. |

NOT recormmended.
I'm very suprised to read this, because the four contracts we completed for you were delivered within 27 hours and 10 minutes of being issued, to be precise. I don't recall another 15 contracts from you having been outstanding in our queue, but if so, it seems you removed them just prior to their having worked their way to the front of the queue.
Our contract statistics are pulled from the API and are open for all to see at http://black-frog.red-frog.org/status.php . They show that within the last five months since we have been able to use the API for statistics, just over 50% of contracts are delivered within 24 hours of being issued and 80% of contracts within 48 hours. |

Over the Christmas/New Year period, CCP has contracted Black Frog to haul all of Santa's lovely gifts out of Polaris to capsuleers around the universe. That's a lot of work indeed, the upshot of which is that we'll be somewhat short-staffed for a good 10 days.
You're very welcome to continue to place contracts for us during this time, but this is a headsup of likely delays until the Christmas/New Years festivities are completed. If you want to reduce the chance that your contracts lapse before our pilots are able to get to them, you might like to set 14 days for acceptance.
From the team here at Black Frog, we're wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for your continued and ongoing support throughout 2011. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2012. |

Most of our null sec JF pilots, along with a large proportion of the EVE player base, are still afflicted by the client crash on cyno jumping bug that CCP has acknowledged but not yet patched.
Until CCP finishes testing their fix and patches the client, unfortunately our null sec deliveries are for the most part on hold. We'll be working hard to deliver contracts as soon as the client is patched, but until then, we're not in the mood to throw away perfectly good jump freighters on a wing and a prayer that they won't crash. |

Hello everyone!
This note is to give you a heads up on our change in pricing structure, effective immediately. For over 18 months of operations, Black Frog Logistics has not raised its prices. But the cost of doing business has risen dramatically:
- Jump Freighter prices are now 3-4 billion ISK more expensive, raising the entry bar for new pilots.
- PLEX prices are now over 500M -- 150M more than a year ago.
- Isotope (fuel) prices have risen dramatically, doubling our fuel bills. Contracts to distant 0.0 regions were sometimes barely covering their fuel costs.
- Business is booming and attracting new recruits is an ongoing issue.
- We're spending long times hauling through hisec, which can easily be accomplished in a regular freighter intead of a specialised jump freighter.
- A lot of clients are using 1.5 billion collateral, when their goods are worth much, much less than the collateralised value.
For these reasons, we've made the following changes:
- We have reduced the standard collateral to 1 billion. As always, you are free to increase this up to 5 billion for a small fee if you have more expensive goods.
- Contract rewards are now calculated using fixed base fees for losec or 0.0, with a variable fuel cost component based on the distance in light years between the pickup and destination (per 11.25 light years, or part thereof)
One way to minimise the effect of the fuel costs will be to arrange highsec portions of your trip yourself, or with the use of Red Frog Freight. For example, all losec systems are within 11.25 light years of at least one highsec station, so if you use Red Frog to move your goods to/from the highsec station, the cost of moving 1 billion ISK of goods to or from losec will rise by a very modest 5M ISK. You can use the tools at evemaps.dotlan.net to find a suitable hisec station to set your contract to/from. Common stations you might like to try are Zinkon (Aridia, Khanid, Fountain, Delve), Stacmon or Adacyne (Placid, Syndicate, Outer Ring), Nonni or Torrinos (Lonetrek, Pure Blind, Venal), Hek (Metropolis), Teonusude (Molden Heath), Berta (Derelik, Curse), Arnola (Great Wildlands).
Our goal is simple: bring the rewards back in line with both inflation and our costs, while simultaneously making hauling freight sufficiently profitable that we can attract new recruits. We believe the changes will both increase contract completion speed and reduce the average length of time a contract waits in the queue, which is win win for everyone.
We look forward to continuing to assist you with your logistical needs throughout losec and NPC 0.0. If you need any help, please look us up in channel 'Black Frog' as always.
Fly safe! M'uva |

Sounds like it was a very long time since you last used Black Frog, since our prices haven't changed in more than a year, if I recall correctly. During that time, the price of many, many things in eve have doubled through inflation - PLEX, many minerals, jump fuel, jump freighters. We can long back to the days when everything was cheaper, but those days are in the past.
That said, the value of a jump freight service to any individual really does depend on the value of the goods you want to move and how difficult it is to get them there (safely) yourself. Those who move high value, high volume items around eve will find our services more value-for-money than those with low value, low volume items. |

The top of the trip calculator gives you what you are asking for already, detailing the number of contracts issued, accepted, completed in the last 24 hours, the current number of contracts in the queue and the number in progress, as well as a breakdown of contracts in the queue by age (> 48 hours, 24-48 hours, < 24 hours).

Since it's updated every 15 minutes from the API, it's vastly superior to an update in the message of the day, which will invariably be out of date before long. |

We've just updated our message of the day to make it clearer that contracts over 340,000 m3 often experience lengthy delays. This is because over 340,000 m3 you start needing maximum skilled pilots and/or particular racial jump freighters, as each different race of jump freighter has a different maximum cargo capacity. Contracts of 360,000 m3, for example, can only be taken by a Caldari jump freighter pilot who has level V skills.
For the time being you are still welcome to set contracts between 340,000 and 360,000 m3, but you do need to be fully aware of the possibility of significant delays. |

So I wanted to ask, if there is any discount for me? If yes, we can have a meet ingame for more details. If not, should I set up the contract with the 1 Billion colleteral or the price of the cargo?
Best regards, Patboy.
Our costs of fuel, time and risk are the same if it's 3k m3 or 320k m3, so the price is the same as well. For less than 1B collateral you are free to set it to 1B or to the value of the goods... the value of collateral is entirely up to you. |

We price each delivery separately, as even when clients do put up contracts to and from a particular losec or nullsec system, quite often we'll have one pilot nearby the nullsec >> hisec route who'll take that, and a separate pilot who takes the hisec >> nullsec route, which means there are no savings in time or fuel. |

Floris Saucus wrote:Is there some delay at the moment? It's been nearly 24h and my contract is still outstanding. Judging from what I've read here it should have at least been accepted already. If not, I'm just impatient ^^
Contracts remain in the queue until a pilot is ready to begin working on them, at which time they are accepted. The reason for this is that once a contract is accepted, only the pilot who accepted it can complete it. So if we had someone accept contracts very soon after they were posted, but they got hit by a bus, there would be nothing any other pilot from Black Frog could do to pickup and deliver your contract.
Historically, about 65% of contracts are completed within 24 hours, 85% within 48 hours, and the remaining 15% a little longer. |

I have items in two separate stations in the same LowSec system and I am looking to relocate to another part of space. Is there a way to calculate cost of movement or method of contracting to account for this.
I've used the calculator on your site and have the cost for a point to point move; no issue with paying additional for a second pickup in the same system but want to find out how you want to go about it.
I've tried engaging a representative in your in-game channel (and Red Frog's) but no one has answered yet so I thought I would post my question here.
It's not possible to do multi-part same-system pickups from different stations in the one contract, so you would need to setup two individual contracts, or else consolidate your items into the one station. One of the reasons for this is that we cannot be assured of being able to warp between stations in system given the possibility of station camping, which means having to cyno out of system and cynoing back in a second time to pickup the second contract. |

bp920091 wrote:How has/will the projected changes coming in November affect your service?
Hard to say for sure. The jump fatigue isn't a big deal - it just adds 5 mins to each maximum length jump of 5ly, which I'd expect to slightly increase prices to compensate. Consider it like paying the taxi for the time it's not moving at the traffic lights, when the main fare is calculated by distance.
The biggest change would be if there are no changes to the proposed nerf to jump range of 5 ly. Most NPC 0.0 regions would be incapable of being serviced (I'm looking at you, Delve, Stain, Venal, Curse, Geminate) and if we operated in NPC 0.0 at all, I imagine it would be just Syndicate and the 4 NPC station systems in Pure Blind. |

No. Black Frog is exclusively a jump freight service. And contract mechanics make it impossible to collateralise any ships to be moved via a Bowhead, as you cannot put courier contract plastic wrap in a ship maintenance array. To even consider the service would require CCP to change contract mechanics to make this possible as a first step. |

I need about 62,553m^3 transported from: Y-4CFK V - Moon 17 - Guristas Testing Facilities (102 Items) to Jita 4-4
I'm not very rich. I'm asking on the forum because so far no one has accepted the contract in game and it has been several weeks. The Contract is currently posted so just waiting now. The current contract is for 30mil but I can go more if you want. If my offer is too low please just tell me.
Regards, ZER0NE
Hi there Zerone. I suspect it is languishing on public contracts because the reward doesn't even cover the cost of fuel to get there and back, let alone cyno kits, and the time and risk involved in any courier contract being moved in a 6-7 billion ISK jump freighter.
If you'd like us to help you rather than leaving your contract to sit in public contracts, you'll find our trip calculator linked in the OP or in game in the channel 'Black Frog', which will give you the price we think is a fair reward for the distance travelled, the risk incurred, and the fuel spent. |

300M isk is what we think is fair value for that combination of risk, distance and time to move the goods involved - and that's why the calculator gives that prices. Our service doesn't make financial sense for every pilot in eve - and clearly the higher the value of the goods being moved, their volume and the difficulty to extract via other means, the greater the value the client would find in our services. Only you can weigh up whether you think the service we are offering is right for your circumstances.
Otherwise you can continue trying a public contract in the hopes someone happens to be passing through anyway and is looking to fill up some empty cargo space, sell your goods on the market in place, or move or fly them out yourself. Again, only you can determine which option makes most sense in your circumstances.
As courier contracts can only be created from a station and to a station, we can't ship goods directly from a POS to a station - the game mechanic just doesn't make that possible, nor is the risk involved able to be managed. |
